“… Lot of market potential. At least the way apple structure carry exclusivity in different countries, the ipod touch has an opportunity to be sold into for example here in the u.S., verizon customers, t-mobile customers, customers that won’t switch to AT&T. >> david: you know what is competing, knocking at the doors. “… Or they going to focus just on the iphone? >> the iphone clearly has a lot of market potential. At least the way apple structure carry exclusivity in different countries, the ipod touch has an opportunity to be sold into for example here in the u.S., VERIZON customers, t-mobile customers, customers that won’t switch to at&t. >> david: you know what is competing, knocking at the doors. “… >> david: joining us once again to wrap up our coverage of APPLE’s media event is ross rubin, director of group. Good to see you again. Bottom line, what i’m wondering if the iphone attempt to sell the nano with the new bells and whistles it has, and the ipods, is pushing — trying to keep progress away? The fact is won’t all phones eventually be able to do what I pod and nanos now do? >> it’s never a question of phones having some of the capabilities to do these things, because phones have the capability even before the iphone came along. How do you package it in a way the consumer will use it. >> the consumer right now is holding on to their money like they never have before >> APPLE continues to sell songs and contacts — >> but they’re losing 12% of their sales in ipods. >> on the ipods on the traditional side of the ipod a lot of that is shifting to the new platforms, the touch and the iphone. >> david: what comes next for are they going to continue to focus on that? Or they going to focus just on the iphone? >> the iphone clearly has a lot of market potential. At least the way APPLE structure carry exclusivity in different countries, the ipod touch has an opportunity to be sold into for example here in the u.S., verizon customers, t-mobile customers, customers that won’t switch to at&t. >> david: you know what is competing, knocking at the doors. “… Different pain tolerances. Not a painful procedure at >> liz: we suggest the ticker symbol tatt, that would be good luck. Keep us posted when you go >> david: john keith, appreciate it. >> david: steve jobs steps on stage and APPLE’s new products got kind of lost in the shuffle. >> liz: are APPLE fans singing a new itune? Is it happy tune or the blews? That’s next on fox business. Welcome to progressive. I’m looking for a deal I think I might have a coupon in here. There’s an easier way. We’ve got …” – AAPL on Fox Business
“… Big screen. It’s like five times — >> david: it is, or is not an h.D.? >> sorry. I don’t believe it’s an h.D. >> liz: yeah, that’s the got to play catch-up here. CISCO was able by acquisition to get the flip camera. And certainly you can bet that the smart guys at CISCO are working hard to turn that into some type of fantastic feature. We have seen momentum. >> liz: go ahead, mark. >> but if you’re considering buying a video camera for christmas, and you get a nano ipod player together at the same price, that is a compelling competitive proposition that CISCO isn’t matching even with the h.D.. If you want an h.D. Recorder, that’s great. That’s a different >> david: what is the price, mark or shibani? What is the price point for >> I don’t recall off the top of my head. I want to say it’s $149. …” – CSCO on Fox Business
“… But if it were in fact a possibility and considered, the release of the new remastered c.D. By paul and the rest of the beatles trust is a big event. I’m sure they hope to capitalize on financially first before they turn it over to APPLE at some point. That makes a lot of sense. >> mark, you’re not the first person to say that may be perhaps it will be a stage announcement, staged release of new beatles content. Last but not least, you talked about the anticipation being really, really high for APPLE at all of the events. What is next? How are they going to surprise fans, investors, analysts next time? >> you never estimate what they have up their seen. Sometimes the products aren’t ready and sometimes it’s not the right time to launch if this is a prechristmas push they get. Free media, opportunity for them to create expectations. One thing I would add about the addition of video to the nano is a full-on broadside against cisco systems. Cisco systems acquired the the flip is a very nice industry leading device. And now APPLE is going right right at the jugular. It may not be the biggest most important development but it’s classic ikic silicon valley warfare. >> I know you want to ask mark a question, liz. >> liz: we don’t want to turn this into a commercial for anybody and we went to look on the blogs where people are obsessed, totally obsessed one thing I noticed is that there is a little bit of negative feelings about the fact that APPLE — look, we all love the upgrades, but people feel like they’re tricked into buying something and suddenly it’s obsolete 13 months later. >> they’ve been doing that …” – AAPL on Fox Business

“… Etf you can buy, because it’s a way to diversify yourself from the s&p 500, which lizzy, again, to your point is because there are other things going on out there that will negativity effect equities potentially down the road. Headline news if we can. APPLE is trading down after it was trading up earlier it’s down about 1%. Just about that $170 mark if we put the APPLE on the screen. What do you think first of all, steve jobs, and whether his health had any influence on the price of the stock? Or the products that they came out with today? >> probably the health thing, david. It was just good to see him. Based on what he’s been through, he looks pretty good. Let’s not forget, let’s remember that tim cooke did a great job while steve was I don’t think there is as much worry life after steve jobs for APPLE is going to be poor. I’ve been talking about APPLE all year. I love the stock. I think it’s going to 200 by the end of the year. The new products are glachlt’reglachlt great. They’re lowering products and not to mention the exposure to china at the end of the an is a great play — APPLE is a great play. >> liz: people wonder why the stock was up a percent to down $2. >> lizzy, it’s because people have been trading this thing active up close to 20% in the last couple of months. Maybe something that people are taking profits. Maybe not liking the fact they’re lowering the prices. I look forward to the christmas holiday shopping I see the fact that more people are going to demand the an aal products. It’s good for the company. >> we have ross rubben standing by.
