Research in Slow Motion?

Research in Motion stock is getting clobbered today as the market is digesting profit and revenue warnings from the company today. However, the company continues to gain subscribers and will continue to be one of the best phone makers in the marketplace. We are not scared by the warnings today, and see this dip as an opportunuty

Verizon: Surviving but Not Thriving

Ockham has downgraded Verizon recently because the underlying fundamentals look less appealing, especially considering the value available elsewhere in the market. The company reported quarterly results today that were mixed, but we are maintaining our position on this stock.

Apple Makes This Look Easy

Research in Motion has had one heck of a day, dropping more than 27% after a disappointing earnings release. We are starting to like the posibilities that are represented by this growth story that all of a sudden is attractively priced.

Goodbye, Moto?

Motorola’s market share continues to erode as more and more cell phone users are opting for smart phones, such as RIMM’s Blackberry and Apple’s iPhone. The company recently hired Dr. Sanjay Jha from Qualcomm to try to rebuild the headset division. Unless something is done quickly to stem the decline in market share, “goodbye Moto?” may be the company’s new tag line.
