Ockham Announce Partnership
Ockham’s Analysis on Thousands of Companies combined with RazorWire
New York , January 28, 2009: QUODD Financial Information Services (Jersey City, NJ) announced plans today for a joint venture with Ockham (Atlanta, GA) to provide Ockham’s content, analysis, and the business television slicing tool, RazorWire, over the QUODD platform.
QUODD Financial Information Services provides a real-time data management solution poised to revolutionize the integration, delivery and use of live data. The company's solution is based on a proprietary platform technology which allows an enterprise complete flexibility in content selection as well as customized delivery with personalization down to the seat level (a radical improvement over existing rigid data solutions that force all enterprises to accept a standard delivery format and defined data set).
Ockham, a content, media, and research firm that focuses on slicing through information to enable informed decisions, is launching its new platform with QUODD after months of development. The new platform combines detailed financial analysis, metrics, and content on thousands of publicly traded companies with the ability to read up to the minute commentary transcribed directly from the major television business channels on those securities.
"The ability for Ockham clients to combine detailed company valuation analysis with up to the minute television news commentary represents a truly unique opportunity," remarked Christian J. Ward, CEO of Ockham. "By integrating this into QUODD’s real time platforms, clients can incorporate Ockham’s concise and relevant information into their daily workflow.”
Ockham's pricing of $1 per month is designed to also highlight the need for a new information model that empowers large numbers of users to utilize their time more efficiently.
“We are very pleased to begin our integration with QUODD Financial Information Services,” said Lou Corsetti, COO of Ockham. “By integrating our analysis and RazorWire components where investment professionals are accessing their real time datasets, Ockham and QUODD are providing a better user experience.”
Dennis Cassidy, CEO of QUODD Financial Information Services stated, “Ockham is a welcomed addition to the QUODD platform as we continue to build the premier data management solution for professional investors. Our goal is to provide access to top products and services, like Ockham, in a real time environment. QUODD is intensely focused on efficiency, information, and the optimal usage of both.”
Research, analysis, and commentary will be provided to QUODD clients on thousands of equity securities. Ockham information will include company valuations, business television commentary, key financial data, detailed ratio analyses, a comparative company and industry analysis, and additional investment insights. Contact your QUODD Financial Services representative for further information.

At Ockham, we recognize that the current market has highlighted the need for every investor and investment professional to take more control of their investment portfolios. Whether you invest in individual stocks, mutual funds, or ETFs, the reality is that you need to stay informed, which can often be very different than just having access to lots of information.
It is with that in mind, that Ockham created RazorWire to track the spoken word on business television channels. RazorWire listens to these channels for most of the shows of the day, updating within seconds any time a stock is discussed on television. It also provides you with a text clip of what was said so that you can incorporate what television pundits, guest hosts, or even company CEO’s are saying on the major stations.
Business television, along with other sources like blogs and online media, have an enormous impact on the flow of information surrounding companies. Additionally, business television (whether you love it or hate it) has a degree of impact far greater than financial blogs and message boards that may never gain enough traction to be powerful. Therefore, business television is one of the most important factors that an investor must track. Unfortunately for many of us, watching television all day just isn’t part of our vocation in life.
RazorWire, located on the right panel of our homepage, is designed to list what was said about thousands of companies, within seconds of it being spoken on television. Now, we won’t say it’s perfect, and occasionally a commercial or two will sneak into the listing. However, we are constantly improving our technology, and we have even enlisted the help of you, our subscribers, to send us emails noting instances where RazorWire got a bit confused. Interestingly, the more we use RazorWire the sharper it gets.
In the coming days, we will post a series of introductory videos that will guide you through using RazorWire and all of the other Ockham tools, to help you cut through to the most important factors in your investment decision making process.
