At $73 per share, Norfolk Southern’s stock is fully priced and vulnerable to a correction. Like much of the rest of the economy, we expect headwinds in the rail business to pressure these pricey shares in the coming months and would recommend other less-richly valued transport stocks at the present time.

After falling 30% from their 52 week high, the ADRs of Toyota Motor have reached a compelling valuation. Toyota is on the cusp of surpassing GM as the world’s largest automaker and is much better positioned to rebound when economic conditions improve in the U.S. Furthermore, Toyota’s product mix is much better diversified to compete in a high-cost-gasoline enviromnent.

Tyson Foods missed their third quarter numbers this morning and the stock is selling off today. However, the shares are beginning to look compelling. Further retreat in the consumer staples segment and continued weakness in TSN shares would make it an attractive investment according to our methodology.

Biotechnology powerhouse Amgen, Inc. (AMGN) has seen its stock price appreciate over 16% year-to-date in what has otherwise been an abysmal market. Despite the run-up in AMGN shares, Ockham Research still finds the shares a compelling investment.

The long awaited decision by the FCC is expected to be delivered very soon, and not a moment to soon for the companies involved. In contrast to those that believe the deal will hurt competition in the industry, it will actually create a stronger and more viable option for many consumers in a highly competitive industry.

UPS the Atlanta based shipping giant reported earnings today that were inline with analyst projection. The company has endured some very tough circumstances with sky-rocketing fuel prices, so the stock has been sold off heavily in the past few months. It is times like these when a company have fallen out of favor with the market that we look to see whether or not it is justified.
